We were invited to design gifts to be given to the collaborators on their birthdays.
On our research, we discovered that Santa Catarina state was home to an unique species of orchid: Laelia purpurata var. werkhauseri.
The story behind it is unique and fascinating (below).
We designed a wooden structure with a vase to help the plant thrive.
The card reads:
Any orchid is, by essence, fascinating; especially the Laelias Purpuratas, typical flowers of Santa Catarina. But this one is not just exotic, it's unique.
A hundred and ten years ago, a rare bluish-gray flower was found in southern Brazil by Karl Werkhauser, an aficionado of the species. For 10 years, in secret, the wild orchid was cultivated with the same dedication to see it bloom anew every spring.
In the inheritance for his daughter, among the greatest assets, was the Superba - as it was named. Out of affection for her father's passions, the heir surrendered to the precious tone of the orchid and kept it flourishing for over 40 years.
The rarity of this DNA is such that it was cataloged with the family name: Laelia purpurata var. werkhauseri. In other words, today all descendants are bulbs of the first one and fruits of incomparable dedication.
Now you can continue this story. She will need a small portion of your affection, but don't worry. We've outlined the main care on the back, so you can enjoy this beauty for many of your springs!
