Instituto da Terra was a nongovernmental organisation that worked with prisoners resignifying discarded industrious residues through collaborative design. The NGO worked inside a male prison in Florianópolis, Brasil.
Formus' Journal - Por um Viver Sustentável was designed and executed for Formus – a local manufacturer of high-end modular furniture. It was a personal journal where the bookbinding was done by hand, with the edges of the pages brushed with roasted coffee beans. The avocado leaves were used as bookmarks and had to be boiled and hand-brushed to reach a desired skeletonic effect.
The journal won the Max Feffer Graphic Design Award in 2007 in Brasil.
